Many years ago, I started to search for a Corvette built between
1958 and 1960. In the United States, I found a dealer – unbelievable.
Upon arrival, the salesman asked me to specify color and model options.
Then he opened the gate – I took a deep breath – there were
over one hundred Corvettes sitting there, model years between ’64
and ’80. From my search range (’58 to ’60) alone, over
thirty were there. |

After crossing the hangar more than twice, I finally
found my light blue and white 1959 Corvette with an automatic transmission. |

In a container to Hamburg, and hauled by a carrier
right to my front door. The red blinker glasses were converted to orange
ones and the vehicle was street legal for Austria without any problems |

In 2006, I thought of selling the Corvette. Before,
I looked at the current prices in the U.S. The increase in value was 100%.
Even in its country of origin, that car is hard to get. It is definitely
a “keeper”, even if I don’t drive it very often.
